Chief Executive Officer
I am originally from the island of Caye Caulker. My professional career started in San Pedro when I was selected to be the island’s first town administrator in 2001. I worked under the stewardship of Mayors Alberto Nunez Sr. J.P. and Elsa Paz J.P. I left the San Pedro Town Council in 2004 to start Belize Caye Investment Ltd (BCIL), a title and real estate closing company. BCIL has grown from a one-person operation to a business with a current team of seven.
I hold a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in International Management from Valdosta State University. I was also the chairperson of Caye Caulker from 2010 to 2013, 2003 to 2007 and 2004 to 2007. I currently reside in Caye Caulker with my wife, Solange, and two children, Vera and Massimilino.
Top Producing Agent / Senior Broker at Ambergris Seaside Real Estate Ltd.
My wife and I have been living on Ambergris Caye for more than fifteen years now, and during that time I have become one of the most senior real estate professionals on the island. I have gone through the property purchase process, built a home, and become a full-fledged member of the community. I have extensive knowledge and experience in every facet of real estate transactions here, and I want that experience to benefit you.
What I love most about selling local real estate is getting out on the boat and showing clients what I love most about this island and this community. I have come a long way since we moved here from Austin, Texas. No regrets.
(Fact: I play golf as much as possible but never seem to get any better.)
I was born and raised on the island and have lived here my entire life. I’m a graduate of The San Pedro High School. I went on to further my education at college in Belize City and quickly returned to the sandy beaches of my island home. I’m currently the office manager at Ambergris Seaside Real Estate Ltd. I enjoy living, working and volunteering in my beautiful hometown.

Associate Vice President
I worked for twenty-six years as an MRI Technologist with the last eight of these employed as the facility administrator of an outpatient diagnostic imaging center in Los Angeles, California. I retired from work in 2014 and moved to San Pedro, Belize that same year with my husband to enjoy island life.
Currently retired! I worked in the medical field for thirty-six-plus years as a practicing orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapist. I was also the administrator for an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine surgery center. In my later years in the medical field, I was the operations administrator for a twenty-man orthopedic sports medicine physicians’ practice.
Thirty-six plus wonderful years in the medical field, now retired, and looking to give back to the country I currently call home.
My name is Maria Flota, and I am a native of San Pedro. I am the vice principal of San Pedro High School. I have been an educator for the past twenty-five years. I believe that all children can learn and that education is the foundation of a successful future.
I am a naturalized citizen of Belize who has lived here since 1991. In 2002, together with Chuck, I started my very own successful business, Chuck and Robbie’s Dive and Scuba, which I continue to run. I am also the vice chair of San Pedro Tour Operators Association. My wife and I are raising three wonderful kids. In addition, I am a board member for several other organizations and foundations whose primary functions are to help improve the lives of the citizens and residents of San Pedro, as well as to enhance the enjoyment of the many vacationers who visit the island.
As business owner and dive instructor, I love sharing my vast knowledge of the second largest barrier reef in the world with visitors and others who seek a glimpse of the diversity and beauty of Belize’s underwater world.
San Pedro is my home and making it one of the most wonderful places to visit and/or live is paramount.
